Hussain Sajwani is the current head of DAMAC Properties, a construction company which is renowned around the world. DAMAC Properties has been linked to the development of high-end luxurious apartments, some which come with a Bentley.
Hussain Sajwani graduated from the University of Washington and was employed by GASCO, a company run by the Abu Dhabi Oil Company, to work as their Contracts Manger. He worked there for a few years then decided to follow his path in 1982. He founded his own catering company. The catering business gained momentum winning tenders from the American army to supply food during the Desert Storm operation. Hussain Sajwani’s catering business was also responsible for supplying the Abu Dhabi energy sector with catering services.
In the 90s, he built several hotels to serve the growing number of foreigners coming to the Emirates to carry out business. This was where began his career in property development. He founded DAMAC properties in 2002, taking full advantage of the policy passed by the Dubai Government that allowed foreigners to own property in the country. DAMAC Properties has since grown to become a multi-billion dollar company. The company is based in Dubai and is involved in developing residential, relaxation, commercial properties, and also has a foot in real estate.
Hussain Sajwani and the United States’ president Donald Trump have been involved in different projects since 2013 including constructing two Trump-themed golf courses in Dubai. Their relationship has gone from being a business relationship to being a personal relationship. The DAMAC owner and the president with their families have met several times and even shared meals. The Hussain Sajwani family hopes to be involved in more business activities in the future.
Hussain Sajwani believes in giving back to society and has been involved in different philanthropic activities. The latest is a campaign to support the living standards of people across the world. In conjunction with the government of Dubai, they have donated money aimed at clothing millions of people across the world. This came about as gesture for Ramadan. They aim to cloth over 50,000 children across the world.
